Pick #1 – Los Angeles Lakers at Cleveland Caveliers
With Kobe heading into retirment and Lebron playing some of the best basketball of his already storied career tonight's match up is a tale of two teams going in opposite direction. This NBA contest is featuring the Cavs with the a 7-3 record over there last 10 games as they position themselves for a top playoff spot against the Lakers who on the other hand are 2-8 over there last 10 games with no playoff hope in sight.. Even though Cleveland (37-14) is in the upper echelon of NBA teams and the Lakers (11-43) not so much they both have been playing extremely scrappy basketball lately. Neither team is facing any serious injuries (Lakers - Anthony Brown(ankle), Larry Nance(knee), Cavs - Matt Dellavedova(back) so this should set the stage for another up and down game where all stars are on deck to showcase their talents. One of the last chances for Kobe to battle Lebron so both should be in rare highlight form trying to help there team put up points to win. The lakers this year have been known for a faster style of basketball and Cleveland seems to have joined the speedy play train as of late so this game should see a significant amount of offense and quick guard play. Cleveland has a 14-11 over/under record at home while Los Angeles has a 15-14-1 away total over/under which makes for the perfect convergence for a high scoring basketball game. As encouraging as all of the data and notes are above for this match hitting the over here is where the numbers get really good. To start the total has gone over in 5 of Cleveland's last 7 games. Looking at the offensive and defensive averages of both teams over there last 10 games they merge and combine for offensive totals of 203.4 points while giving up 205.2 points on the defensive end. While these numbers are on the lower side of tonight's total a key here is that the Cavs must win by +15.5 meaning they are going to create significant scoring opportunities tonight to cover and the Lakers have been playing a lot of tough teams close this year which should result in lots and lots of points. One of the most vital data points we are seeing emerge for this bet is that it opened at 208 and has climbed as high as 209.5 throughout the day. The money is speaking and all signs are pointing to the over. This selection is the only one on the board today hitting the over 70% consensu mark at 72% giving us clear indicators where the outcome of this bet should land. The last time these two teams met Cleveland was favored by 14 and final score was 120 – 105 and we are hoping the similar scenario tonight will turn into the same result as last time which was a super high scoring game in which the Cavs covered and over total covered easy. Lets look for Kobe to rally the troops tonight for a big game against Lebron and even more importantly lets follow all the indicators that are showing picking the OVER 208.5 is a solid play here.
