NBA Picks Monday 2/29/2016 – HOU vs. MIL

2/29/2016

Pick #1 – Houston Rockets at Milwaukee Bucks

While the nearly last place Milwaukee Bucks would need a miracle to make the playoffs the currently 8th seeded Houston Rockets are fighting with everything they got just to stay in the race. While the Bucks start to fade away from 2015-2016 NBA memory and currently have a 3-7 record over there last 10 games the Rockets are starting to make things interesting and have gone a solid 7-3 record over that same span of games. Both teams certainly have some serious offensive power on any given night and Houston (29-30) and Milwaukee (24-35) should give us that up and down game we expect here from a hungry Rockets team. Both teams have injuries but not to any major roles in the offense. Its Clint Capela on the Rockets side and for Bucks the list consists of Jerryd Bayless, John Henson, Steve Novak, and Greivis Vasquez so expect the Bucks starters to get all the run they can handle. The Rockets and Both have both been off a little defensively lately giving this game a great chance to see some serious offensive production. Checking these two teams last 10 face offs the over/under is dead even at 5-5 but we have to like to over side as both teams are increasing offensive focus. While the prior data is a nice start to a pick review in order to get an honest assessment for how strong of a value play this may be lets delve a little further into the numbers. The total has gone OVER in 5 of Houston's last 5 games on the road. When hot teams are hitting perfect its hard to deny on which side of the NBA total a game will most likely end up. While the offensive and defensive 10 game averages for these two teams workout together to lower totals of 209.2 and 211.8 points per game there should be no issue putting up points tonight given the recent trends. We have to really be starting to feel good about all of these signs pointing in the direction of the over. The point spread for this NBA over/under begin at 214 and has shifted a promising 1.5 points towards our side so it looks like the savvy money is siding with us as we like. An enticingly strong 67% consensus never hurts our chances and this % has only been staying strong and trending upwards all day. These two teams played well over a month ago so we are not really going to look any further into the data and go with our formulated read. The Rockets have to win by -2 here so expect plenty of points down the stretch if this game can remain close. Lets follow the hard work and expert instincts and side with the OVER 215.5 and make the best of a favorable position.
