NBA Picks Monday 2/1/2016 – MEM vs. NO

2/1/2016

Picture
Pick #1 – Memphis Grizzlies at New Orleans Pelicans

Both of these teams are on fire with the Grizzlies winning 8 out of their last 10 games and the Pelicans winning 7 out of their last 10 court appearances. While the Pelicans are facing a slew of injuries they have seen plenty of players step up in place of some missing star starters. The biggest injury concerns right now for the pelicans are to Eric Gordon and Tyreka Evens. The good thing for New Orleans is they have plenty of offensive weapons at guard so filling these missing roles with quality players has not really been an issue so far. When you have Jrue Holiday as a backup point guard that is saying a lot about the depth of your guard roster. These two teams last 10 over and unders have gone 4-5-1 so its been pretty even so far but the faster recent playing pace should start to tip us in the right direction here. Both teams are playing high paced, high quality offensive basketball and there is no reason this should not continue tonight. The Pelicans need to win by -2 here so we should see a close game with plenty of back and forth points down the stretch. Memphis also has a 25-23 over and under stat line on the year making this yet another appealing bet to sail above the set Total line. As promising as all of the above here is where the numbers start to look incredible for this bet. First off the the over/ under total has gone over in 5 of New Orleans's last 5 games but it gets better. The total has also gone over in 9 of Memphis's last 10 games giving a huge insight into just how up tempo these two teams are currently playing. Looking at the offensive and defensive averages of both teams over there last 10 games they each combine for collective offensive and defensive scores of 211.7 points while giving up 202.6 putting us in a nice position to see yet another Over / Under hit for these two teams. On another positive note we have tracked the consensus pick percentage so far for this NBA total and we are showing a 68% position on the over so we are getting a nice favorite here. Opening as low as 201 the bets have been piling up on the over pushing the line all the way up to 203 so far. The numbers all point to an OVER here so lets go with the clear trends and collect some cash. We will take the smart money and recent results and take the OVER 203 with confidence.
