NBA Picks Friday 4/8/2016 – IND vs. TOR

4/8/2016

Picture
Pick #1 – Indiana Pacers at Toronto Raptors

A must win game for the Indiana Pacers we can expect them to bring a high level of intensity and focus to tonights game with offense and a win mostly on the mind. While the Toronto Raptors do not need to pick up the win tonight they are playng mediocre 5-5 basketball over there last 10 games which is similar to the Pacers 4-6 record so we have to think both teams will be ready to make statements and work on their games as they head into the playoffs. The Indiana Pacers (42-36) and the Toronto Raptors (52-26) should be playing some fast paced basketball as usual and the Pacers will be pusing the pace (pun intended) even more as they need to win. Neither team is currently reporting any injuries at this time so all weapons will be ready to be deployed in tonights matchup so we can expect so serious scoring as we see some players fight for a playoff spot while others try to tune up for the first round. We have to think this Eastern conference rivalry game will be very competitive and the Raptors will not be taking being underdogs at home lightly. The total has gone OVER in 5 of Toronto's last 7 games when playing Indiana so we get a great matchup play where the value on this pick really should be in our favor. Also looking at this season as a whole the Toronto Raptors overall home over/under record is 22-17 so its pretty clear that when it comes to home games the Raptors are always ready to step up in offensive duels. Offensive and defensive statistics when averaged up over the last 10 games account for outputs of 201.8 and 199.7 respectively so there should be no issue with this contest easily flying OVER the 194.5 mark. The over/under total for this NBA spread opened at 194.5 and has remained steady throughout the day so the money still might be undecided but all other signs point to this one having no problem going OVER. The Pacers have to cover a -5.5 point spread on the road so there will be a huge need to put up a lot of points against the Raptors fast playing home offense. The consensus for this matchup has the public holding the over at a nice and hefty 68% so we have to feel even stronger about this pick with the majority on our side. The last Pacers and Raptors game in Toronto ended up with a 99-106 so this game should have no problem producing a similar scoring stat line especially with the Pacers in such desperation. Lets go with this matchup specific OVER 194.5 here and pick up a nice easy victory and trip to the cashout cage.
