NBA Picks Friday 1/22/2016 – MIL vs. HOU

1/22/2016

Picture
Pick #1 – Milwaukee Bucks at Houston Rockets

The bucks are starting to heat up while the Rockets are on a losing trajectory as of late. Winners of 5 out of there last 7 games Milwaukee is starting to see its young talent gel. On the other hand the Rockets are full of Veteran stars that still seem to have yet to find that chemistry which is indicative of there current 3 losses in the last four games. Regardless of recent records both teams are certainly putting up high point totals and although these two teams have not face off this year there should be plenty of shots going up and falling in this one. Backing up this initial inclination is the fact that the total has gone OVER in 7 of Houston's last 8 games. The Rockets really love to push the pace and the odds makers are simply not keeping up as of now. Houston also has to win by -3 in this game so we can really expect them to play at usual fast rate at home and the Bucks will have no choice but to follow sit and they actually have the high powered offense to do it. Another interesting note for this game is that both teams over/under records are 24-19-1(Bucks) and 24-20 (Rockets) again making the over look very appealing as we start to dive into the numbers. Looking at the averages of both teams combined they score a collective 202.6 points while giving up 208.4 and we really have to like the fact that both teams defenses are giving up combined on the year more then were giving up in or total. Now here is where the stats get exciting when considering this NBA total over/under pick. Tracking the consensus bets on the day so far the over /under for this game is showing an insane positional percentage of 98% and staying pretty strong at that point the whole day. Opening as low as 207 on some bookmaking sports sites the smart money has edged this bet up to 208 as we are seeing in most places which is the type of movement we like to see. Sticking at 208 for a long time today so far lets hope we can lock it in at that before the smart money starts to move it even further up. Milwaukee is 5-0 ATS in its last 5 games so it will be interesting to see how close they really can keep this one in Houston. Its going to take a lot of scoring to do it. One interesting note is that the Houston Rockets field goal percentage has averaged 44.55% this year which is a tad less than the Milwaukee Bucks record of 46.06% shooting which is a bit miss leading. This matchup is fast a paced Rockets team playing against a more determined and equally high flying Bucks team. All signs point to both these teams running up the score so lets lock in the OVER 208.
