MLB Picks Friday 6/3/2016 – NYM vs. MIA

6/3/2016

Picture
Pick #1 – New York Mets at Miami Marlins

This will be second season series and both teams have been playing very solid baseball up until this point. The Mets are 6-4 over their last 10 games and the Marlins are playing a similar 5-5 over their last 10 contests and each team has been struggling a bit as of late putting up runs. The game were picking tonight is the New York Mets (29-23) versus the Miami Marlins (29-25) who last time they faced off went UNDER 2 out of the 3 game set. Starting with looking inside some of the key trends we see that the total has gone UNDER in 8 of NY Mets's last 11 games on the road. In addition to this the the total has gone UNDER in 4 of Miami's last 5 games at home. The icing on the cake to start off with when looking at some past numbers is the fact that the total has gone UNDER in 6 of Miami's last 8 games when playing the New York Mets. These are strong leans towards the UNDER that we should take into consideration when formulating our play. There has already been 3 games between these two teams this year so we have solid data to work from in this spot. Its almost unbelievable but the last two games have only produced 6 runs which is less then the point total we get tonight. One aspect of this game that really favors us is the fact that the first time this year Noah Syndergaard pitched against Miami he only gave up 2 runs and we should see the same shutdown dominating pitching tonight. These two teams have not been producing much offense as of late and the public consensus seems to agree as the MLB total is a nice and compelling 73% on the UNDER. The Mets produce 3.75 runs this year and the Marlins show up with 3.93 runs on average for the year so we are right around where we need to be to hit this and the pitching will get us there. The weather at Marlins Park is looking like 95°F, Mostly Sunny , Humidity is 59% , Wind is E 9 mph, Visibility is 9 mi mi so perfect conditions for the pitchers to have great games. The total over/under spread for this MLB game opened at 7 and has stayed steady so far so lets take this over/under as it opened and before it changes. A nice final point to this pick is the fact that starting pitchers Noah Syndergaard and Tom Koehler combine for a 6.03 ERA this season giving a strong roll at the UNDER. The computer predicted score for this matchup is 6.6 so lets roll with the UNDER at 7 and hopefully take home the victory.
