I am making another play on Miami for the 1st half on the road. The Lakers are not a good first half team, as they average a first half deficit of 3.3 at home this season. Miami is averaging a lead in the 1st half of 0.9 on the road, and they have averaged a first half lead of 7.7 over their last 3 games.

This is a trend play on the Rangers. They have been trending in a serious upwards fashion lately, covering the puck line in 6 of their last 8. The Islanders have struggled against some bad teams, including losses to Buffalo and Edmonton recently. This should be a hard fought game, but overall I have to take a shot on the Rangers to get a big win, they are the hotter team right now.

I am going to back Oregon in this game. I think this is where the experience at QB will make the difference for Mariota. He stayed behind another year to bulk up and work on making NFL quality decisions at QB. I think the Public is over reacting to how well Ohio State played and not paying enough attention to how poorly Alabama played in their last game. Oregon is a very very fast team, I think they will find enough big play opportunities to cover the 6 points.

I have to back the Cowboys here. This one is going to be a high scoring game. GB has a really bad secondary as we saw against Atlanta, and I don’t think they will be able to stop the run the way Detroit did. The Cowboys are undefeated on the road and they can play in hostile stadiums as we saw in Seattle. We know Rodgers is going to put up points so I am also taking the over for 1 unit.

I also do like Denver to win this game, but 9 points may be a little much, you could take a 6.5 point teaser with the over if you don't have anything on this game and want some action.

Going with another shot on Toronto puck line today. They are still the highest scoring home team in the NHL. Columbus is bad on the road where they are 22nd in the NHL in goals scored and they have a losing road record with only 7 wins all year away from home. I think the Leafs bounce back in another high scoring game.

This is a trend I have been watching. Portland tends to go behind early in their games then turn it on in the 2nd half. This is even more apparent at home as they average 49.3 at home in the 1st half compared to 53.1 on the road. Miami is much more consistent at home and away, and they actually average 49.9 in the 1st half away from home. We are getting great value here at +205 so it makes the cut as a road dog system play.

I was very surprised to see this over open at only 5.5. I had it pegged at 6. I also think the Leaf team will have some fire under their behinds as they just fired the coach, and the players should want to prove they are not the issues. Toronto is the highest scoring team in the NHL and they play much better on home ice. They are also well rested with 4 days off after a brutal 7 game road trip. Play the over, and the Puck Line here.

This is a situational play. The Islanders are in the middle of a brutally long West Coast road trip. They are playing the late game so I wouldn’t be surprised if they lose their legs as the game wears on. They just got 2 wins vs Winnipeg and Calgary before losing to Edmonton.  Historically Vancouver has owned this matchup winning 8 of the last 11 games.  The Canucks are a very solid home team against teams from the east going 6-2 on the year. NYI is 5-5 on the road vs western teams. At basically even money the value is on the home team here.

This is an interesting matchup, but teams have struggled lately. Minnesota is usually a great home team but they have struggled lately. I have this game handicapped closer to a coin flip. So ill take the plus money on the underdog.

For today’s NBA play I am going with the ted hot Warriors at home over OKC. The Warriors are 1st in the NBA for home scoring, yes OKC is a great team, but their production drops off a bit on the road. I also think the Warriors have the deeper bench which should come into play in a big matchup like this. Remember the Warriors have played good teams at home and so far this season they are 13-1 on home court. I think the public is overreacting to how good OKC has looked since both Durant and Westbrook have come back. Lock this in now at 2.5
